Botswana: Victoria Falls & Botswana
1st Sunday Every Month

Journey: 2027 - 2026 Duration: 11 Days Single Room Price: $10650 pp Double Sharing Price: $12950 pp Limited To: 4-16

A thoughtfully paced safari journey combining this Victoria Falls & Botswana Journey for Singles with the wildlife-rich Chobe River, the predator country of Khwai, and the quiet waterways of the Okavango Delta.

This Victoria Falls & Botswana Journey for Singles begins beside Victoria Falls in May, when the Zambezi is typically carrying substantial water and the Falls can be at their most dramatic. From Zimbabwe, the route moves overland into Botswana and the Chobe River region, where game drives and boat safaris offer a rewarding way to observe elephants and other wildlife at the water’s edge. The journey then flies deeper into the wilderness to Khwai, where floodplains, woodland and riverine habitat support exceptional wildlife viewing and an included night drive adds an entirely different dimension to the safari. The final three nights are spent at Moremi Crossing in the Okavango Delta, where the emphasis shifts toward mokoro excursions, boating, guided walking and the slower rhythm of the wetlands. The progression is intentional: spectacle, river, predators, and finally the quiet immersion of the Delta.

Day 2

Victoria Falls | The Smoke That Thunders

A light rain shell and protected camera gear are recommended in May.

After breakfast, explore Victoria Falls with a guided tour through the rainforest, where a series of viewpoints reveals the scale and power of one of the world’s great natural wonders. In May, the Falls are often carrying a substantial volume of water, creating dramatic spray and constantly changing views. Later, board a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Above the Falls, the river broadens and slows, creating opportunities to watch hippos, crocodiles, elephants and abundant birdlife as the light softens over the water.

Day 3

Victoria Falls to Chobe | Into Botswana

Safari activities are shared unless otherwise specifically arranged.

After breakfast, depart Victoria Falls by private road transfer for the Botswana border and onward to the Kasane area. Following border formalities, continue to Jackalberry Chobe on the Chobe River. After check-in and lunch, begin your first Botswana safari activity according to arrival timing – either a game drive into Chobe National Park or a river-based wildlife experience. The transition from Victoria Falls to the open landscapes of Chobe marks the beginning of the safari portion of the journey.

Day 4

Chobe National Park | Elephants on the River

Exact activity order is coordinated locally according to wildlife and lodge operations.

Spend a full day experiencing Chobe from both land and water. A game drive explores the riverfront woodlands and open floodplains, where elephant, buffalo, giraffe, antelope, lion and prolific birdlife may be encountered. Later, take to the Chobe River by boat. The lower vantage point and quiet approach create exceptional opportunities to watch elephants drink and cross, hippos occupy the channels and wildlife gather along the banks. The contrast between vehicle and river safari is one of Chobe’s defining experiences.

Day 5

Chobe to Khwai | Fly Deeper into the Wilderness

Bush-flight schedules are confirmed locally and may include intermediate stops.

After breakfast, transfer to Kasane Airport for a shared light-aircraft flight into the Khwai region. The flight itself offers a striking aerial introduction to Botswana’s changing landscapes as roads disappear and watercourses, woodland and floodplain take over. On arrival, meet the Camp Khwai team and settle into your tent overlooking the river. An afternoon game drive introduces the area’s rich mix of habitats and wildlife before sundowners and dinner at camp.

Day 6

Khwai | Predators, Floodplains & a Night Drive

Night-drive sightings are entirely wildlife-dependent.

Begin with an early game drive across Khwai’s floodplains, riverine woodland and open country, searching for lion, leopard, wild dog, elephant and the many species drawn to the Khwai River. Return to camp during the warmer middle of the day for lunch and time to rest. In the late afternoon, head out again and continue beyond sunset for an included night drive. Spotlights reveal a different ecosystem after dark, when nocturnal predators and smaller species become active and the bush takes on an entirely different character.

Day 7

Khwai | Mokoro, Walking & the Smaller Details of the Bush

Water and walking activities are subject to local conditions and guide assessment.

Today offers a slower and more intimate perspective on the Khwai ecosystem. When water levels permit, glide through the channels by mokoro, moving quietly among reeds, water lilies and prolific birdlife. A guided bush walk may also be incorporated, allowing attention to shift toward tracks, plants, insects and the subtle signs of wildlife that are easily missed from a vehicle. A further game drive rounds out the day, creating a varied final experience in Khwai.

Day 8

Khwai to the Okavango Delta | Moremi Crossing

Activity mix depends on seasonal water levels.

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a shared light-aircraft flight to Moremi Crossing. The flight offers a spectacular view of the Okavango’s mosaic of channels, islands and floodplains. On arrival, settle into your tent overlooking the Delta and begin an afternoon activity according to water levels and local conditions – perhaps a mokoro excursion, boat outing, guided walk or game drive. The atmosphere is intentionally quieter here, shifting the journey from predator country toward deep Delta immersion.

Day 9

Okavango Delta | Mokoro & Waterways

Water activities remain subject to prevailing May flood conditions.

Spend the day exploring the channels and islands around Moremi Crossing. A mokoro excursion offers one of Botswana’s most distinctive experiences: moving silently at water level as a skilled poler guides the canoe through narrow channels bordered by grasses, papyrus and lilies. Depending on water levels, a boat excursion may extend the range of exploration, while a guided walk on one of the islands reveals the Delta on foot. The emphasis is on quiet observation, birdlife, landscapes and the rhythm of the wetlands.

Day 10

Okavango Delta | A Final Full Safari Day

The camp team selects the strongest activities according to water levels, wildlife and safety.

Your final full safari day is deliberately flexible so the camp can respond to the best conditions and recent wildlife movement. Depending on May water levels, the day may combine mokoro, boating, walking and seasonal game drives. Rather than rushing from activity to activity, the goal is to spend meaningful time in the landscape – pausing for birdlife, elephant movement, changing light and the intricate relationship between water and wildlife that defines the Okavango. Return to camp for a final dinner beneath the Delta sky.

Day 11

Departure | Fly to Maun

Flight timing is confirmed locally the day before departure.

After breakfast, enjoy the final views of the Delta before transferring to the airstrip for the shared light-aircraft flight to Maun Airport. As the channels and islands recede below, the flight provides one last perspective on the extraordinary scale of the Okavango before connecting with your onward travel.

  • Breakfast
Day 1 . Day 2

Ilala Lodge Hotel | Victoria Falls

A riverside sanctuary overlooking the Paro Valley, where traditional Bhutanese architecture meets modern comfort and serene spa experiences.

Day 3, Day 4

Jackalberry Chobe | Chobe River, Kasane

An intimate tented lodge on the Chobe River, Jackalberry combines spacious safari-style accommodation with easy access to Chobe National Park and river-based wildlife viewing. Its setting makes it a natural bridge between Victoria Falls and Botswana’s more remote fly-in safari camps.

Day 5, Day 6 , Day 7

Camp Khwai | Khwai

An intimate hillside retreat with sweeping views of Punakha Dzong, offering rustic charm, organic farm-to-table dining, and authentic Bhutanese hospitality.

Day 8, Day 9, Day 10

Moremi Crossing | Okavango Delta

Moremi Crossing sits in the southern Okavango Delta overlooking channels and floodplains near Chief’s Island. The experience is intentionally water-focused, with mokoro, boating and walking providing a serene final chapter after the more vehicle-oriented days in Chobe and Khwai.
